The start of Fendix

'Dulk' was the fifth employee to join us as an Information Security Consultant, at the time when the B.V. was still called KAM Certifications. He experienced the real start-up phase up close. During that period, we still worked from a small administrative office with a partner, until the team received the keys to the current building. 'Dulk' was there from the first moment: from assembling the very first desks to seeing the first cars with the KAM logo on them drive.

In the early days of Fendix, when the team consisted of only five, the working day often looked slightly different than it is today. At the end of the day, and especially on Friday, time was usually made to relax together. It's just that we didn't have a ping-pong table or Xbox back then. And so we were creatively improvised with what was there.

This is how hilarious games were created where balls had to be thrown in trash cans, fanatical rounds of beer pong with the cups that Wouter brought, and golf trick shots that were performed with the most “crazy” materials. To everyone's surprise, Kilian and Mathijs turned out to be remarkably good at it.

Grown into Senior Privacy Consultant

Dulk expressed his interest in privacy issues and so he has grown over time to become a Senior Privacy Consultant. You may be wondering what a privacy consultant actually does. For us, it's all about helping organizations regulate privacy not only on paper, but especially in practice. He is also regularly deployed as an external DPO (Data Protection Officer) or Privacy Officer.

Ruben supports municipalities, healthcare institutions and schools in making clear choices about data protection. We are not fans of thick reports that end up in the drawer, but of solutions that work in the daily reality of organizations. 'Dulk' can do that like no other. His specialty is applying the AVG in complex organizations. He knows exactly how to turn policy into workable processes.

Fendix's growth

'Dulk' is impressed by how big we are now. The difference is that there are more resources these days, but the core remains the same: having fun, being flexible and working together as a team.
